Chocobos in FF XVI are used to move around the open areas of the game a little quicker. Getting your own is really simple and easy. All you have to do is finish a side quest. The side quest in question is called “White-Winged Wonder”. You can find this quest in Martha’s Rest during the “The Gathering Storm” chapter. To unlock the side quest you will first have to finish the “Release” sub-quest. Then, look for a side quest marker with a “+” on it.
Once you start the quest, just follow the quest marker to the Chocobos, defeat a few enemies and the Chocobo will be yours.
