Akatori All Cat Locations
This guide will show you the location of all Cats in Akatori.
Some Cats require specific abilities to reach, but these unlock automatically as you progress through the story. Only one Cat, the very first one, is missable, since it sits in an area that becomes locked later on, so make sure you collect it as soon as you see it. You can come back for the rest whenever you like, even after beating the final boss. Once the credits roll you'll be sent back to the main menu, where you can reload your save and return to the last checkpoint you rested at.
In total there are 20 Cats scattered throughout the game. After finding all the Cats in a region, you'll receive a trophy for that area.
Akatori Monastery
Cat #1: Gotta take a Break
At the start of the game, after descending into the cave and climbing up the platforms, head to the left to find this Cat. Make sure to grab this Cat now as it is missable. Later on as you progress through the story you will no longer be able to return to this location.
Cat #2: Meeting by the Lake
Drop down the well and it will be on your right side.
Amber Mines
Cat #1: Makiwara
Climb to the upper part of the area and you will see this Cat on the right side.
Cat #2: The Great Festival
Hit the lever in the center of the room to rotate the platform and open a path to reach this Cat.
Cat #3: No Discounts
Head to the location marked on the map and drop down through the water on the left, pass through the seaweed at the bottom and head all the way to the right to find this Cat.
Cat #4: Animal Escape
Climb up through the large water duct staying on the left side and you will reveal a secret passage. Go through it and at the end you will find this Cat.
Amber Castle
Cat #1: Parable
Use the Glider to glide to the top and grab this Cat.
Cat #2: Conspiracy
Use the Glider to reach the Cat.
Cat #3: Old Men's Curse
Right in front of you in the area marked on the map.
Cat #4: A Day on Duty
Break the wall with a charged attack to reveal a secret room with the Cat inside.
Cat #5: Immunity
Break the wall and head all the way to the end of the area to find this Cat.
Amber Forest
Cat #1: Kaidan
Climb to the upper part of the area to find this Cat.
Cat #2: Gossip
On the underside of the platform.
Cat #3: Amber Crisis
Drop down to the underside of the platform and follow the only path all the way to the end to find this Cat.
Cat #4: Secret Weapon
Drop down on the right side of the area while gliding and staying to the right. You will see an enemy that pulls you with its tongue. Below this enemy there will be a secret passage you can go through. Pass through it and swim up through the water to the top to find this Cat.
Amber Plant
Cat #1: Escape
Break the ground to reveal the secret room and find the Cat inside.
Cat #2: Civil Defense Memo
In the large section where you slide on the snowboard you will go up some ice platforms and then return to another section where you will need to slide again. In this second section, climb to the upper part using the platform and then glide with the Glider along the only upper path. The Cat will be hidden behind a false wall.
Cat #3: Life of a Merchant
From the previous Cat, as you climb up the next ice platforms you will see a robot with a laser sight shooting at you. In this area, head to the top and pass through the invisible wall to find this Cat.
Cat #4: Inner Chaos
After using the wind ducts to climb to the upper part, you can grab this Cat in the upper right area.
Cat #5: The Imperial Academic Society
Stand on the moving platform until it takes you to the left, then jump to the upper part of the area to reveal a secret room with the Cat inside.
