Intro
Deer & Boy is one of those games that reminds you video games can be about sensations and feelings just as much as anything else. It is a short, delicate and above all deeply human journey.
Getting to 100% will not give you much trouble. There are no collectibles to hunt down and nothing is permanently missable, since you can jump back to any point through Chapter Select and pick up anything you skipped. The only trophies to keep an eye on are a handful that need to be done within a specific chapter without slipping up.
Step 1. Play through the game + Chapter-specific trophies.
Just play through the game while looking out for the chapter-specific trophies below. If you do happen to miss any, you can use the Chapter Select option to go back and try again. If done correctly, you will have the Platinum Trophy at the end of this playthrough.
Semi-missable trophies per chapter:
- Do not disturb (Chapter 4)
- Free hug (Chapter 8)

Cross the factory without getting caught once.
Chapter 4. Get through the factory segment without being spotted to unlock the trophy. If you are spotted, go back to the game menu and reload Chapter 4.
Witness a tragic separation.
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Become completely infected by dark matter.
Chapter 9. After the brief cutscene with the Boar being consumed by the Dark Matter, walk forward and stand on top of the Dark Matter to be consumed as well. This will unlock the trophy.
Finish the boar sequence without being caught once.
Chapters 11 to 13. Get through the entire sequence with the Boar consumed by the Dark Matter without being spotted. If you are spotted, go back to the game menu and reload Chapter 11.
Rescue the deer on your first try.
Chapter 19. You will see some boxes passing on the conveyor belt and the Deer will be inside one of them. Your goal is to not miss pressing the button to save the Deer. This will unlock the trophy.
Finish the tunnel sequence.
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Escape the strange creatures on your first try.
Chapter 28. Get through all the strange creatures without dying. If you die, go back to the menu, reload the chapter and try again.
Escape from the wolves.
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Outrun the wolves without getting caught once.
Chapter 35. Get through the wolf ambush without dying. If you die, go back to the menu, reload the chapter and try again.
Meet a new friend.
Story-related and cannot be missed. Unlocked upon finding the Boy in the Mines.
Do a high five.
After finding the Boy in the Mines, use on the D-Pad to give him a high five. It is the same button you use to pet the Deer.
Get some help from your new friend and get an unexpected result.
Obtained by having the Boy throw you against any obstacle in the Mines.
Reunite with the deer in the mine.
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Never get hit while riding the deer.
Chapter 53. While controlling the Deer in the final chapter, do not hit any obstacles. This will unlock the trophy. If you hit one, go back to the menu and reload the chapter to try again.
Watch the credits until the end.
Upon finishing the game, watch the credits all the way through.
Cuddle the deer for the first time.
Chapter 8. After rescuing the Deer from the tree, you will be able to pet it with on the d-pad. This will unlock the trophy.
Cuddling deer at every stage of growth.
Obtained by petting the Deer in all 3 stages of its evolution. This trophy is almost story-related, since some actions require you to use the same button you use to pet the Deer. Hard to miss, but just to be safe, make sure to pet the Deer in these chapters.
