ROADMAP

Intro

Denshattack! is a mix between an arcade racing game and a platformer, in the vein of Jet Set Radio or Tony Hawk's. There are some more open, sandboxy levels, but the majority are linear and on rails, literally, with branching paths.

And though that description may not make it sound like it, the platinum is VERY collectible heavy, with over 300 collectibles and 300 dares (challenges you must find and complete) spread across the 65 main levels. You can find them all in our Collectibles Guide.

The platinum will mainly come down to: finding the collectibles, completing the dares, finishing every level with a gold medal and using the collectibles to purchase the trains and stickers. Nothing is missable. You can repeat the levels as many times as you want and return to them at any point, even after finishing the main story.

The collectibles and challenges are not that hard to find or complete, and the only semi-difficult part can be finishing some of the later levels with a gold medal, but still nothing extremely over the top. We will get into the details below.

Step 1. Finish the Game + Main Collectibles.

Finish all 65 main levels while picking up every collectible and dare by following our All Collectibles Guide. You will be able to see how many collectibles there are in a level and the list of dares before you start, and at any time during the level by pausing the game.

Don't worry if you miss some, they don't all have to be done in the same run. If you get to the end, the collectibles and dares you did finish will stay saved, so you can concentrate on the missing ones on your next run. You can try as many times as you like and even come back later if you just want to move on.

During this step you can also get the gold medals as you go, since you will have the levels fresh. However, especially for some of the first ones, I recommend waiting and returning. Later on you will learn a lot more mechanics, you will unlock more trains with unique passives that make getting the gold medals a little easier, and you will simply be better at the game, so the first levels will seem like a breeze. We will go into detail about the gold medals in step 3.

Step 2. Secondary Collectibles.

Once you finish the game and have every collectible in the main levels, it's time to clear out every shop and fill in every comic book to get the stickers, trains and (EN)Zines. These levels will have unlocked automatically as you played through the game.

For the 8 (EN)Zines, go to the 8 levels with a comic icon. There will be one in each of the 9 chapters, excluding chapter 4. Here you will be able to spend the Film Rolls that you collected from the main levels to fill in the comic books. Once a comic book is fully filled in, it will count as an (EN)Zine.

For the trains and stickers, you will want to go to any shop (level with a basket icon) and spend your spray cans and gears. You can go to any shop icon since they all share the same inventory.

Finally, there are the 7 Onsens. These are the levels with the hot spring icons. There are a total of 7 and they unlock every time you find the Onsen Exit in the adjacent level. You will have unlocked them all if you did every dare, since this is always one of them. These levels are just full of dialogue so that you can learn about the world.

All of these non-main level secondary collectibles are also covered in our All Collectibles Guide.

Step 3. Gold Medals.

Now it's time to clear up the gold medals to get the Golden trophy. You will have to get the gold medal in each of the 65 main levels.

To get a gold medal in a level you must get gold in the 3 sub-medals in that level. Keep in mind that you DO NOT have to get all 3 sub gold medals in the same run. As long as you get them once, they will save for future runs, so you can concentrate on one, get it, and then try to get the next. The sub-medals are:

Score: Finish the level with X amount of points. This will be the hardest of the 3. The gold score isn't ridiculous, but it will still require you to chain together a fair amount of tricks, especially in the later levels. Just make sure you go for Intermediate and Hardcore tricks as much as you can, since these will give you the most points (you can check the list in the Tricktionary in the pause menu). There is no need to make EVERY trick hardcore or intermediate, since the main factor when scoring is carrying the combo of tricks for the multiplier.
Your main weapon here is the manuals (hold up or down on the left analog stick just before landing). If you stay in a manual for too long, the train will start shaking. At this point you will either need to jump or hit a boost pad, since if you leave it the train will go back onto all wheels and end the combo.
Though no train is extremely helpful for getting points, I found the Hiroshima Slugger useful since you will get +1 combo for every x5 chain you get. The negative is that if you crash you will lose a lot more points than with any other train. But since we don't want to be crashing anyway, and once you get to some of the harder levels crashing may mean an automatic void of the gold medal, it doesn't really matter.

Time: This one is simple. Just get to the end as fast as possible. Since, like we mentioned before, you don't have to get all sub-medals in the same run, there is no need to go over the top with tricks or chains. Just get perfect drifts for speed boosts and land tricks on manuals to go slightly faster and you should be good. The only thing to look out for here is not crashing, since depending on where it happens the last checkpoint could be a good few seconds back and the time will still be running.
The only levels that can be a little annoying for time are the more sandboxy ones that have multiple main objectives, since you will be forced to learn a fast route. However, it's not that bad, and for a rule of thumb, decide on a coloured sign pointing at a specific main objective and stay with it until it's done, then move on to the next one.

Dares: To get this sub-medal you will have to finish every dare in that level. This includes the collectibles and the challenges. The good thing is that you don't have to do them in the same run, so this one is more a matter of time than skill. You can pick up 3 collectibles and 1 challenge in one run, get to the end, and then collect the rest in the next run. You should already have this sub-medal from step 1 anyway, so you won't have to worry about it.

Once you get gold in all 3 sub-medals, even if they are not done during the same run, you will get the big main gold medal for that level. Once you get it in all 65 main levels, you should have that platinum trophy!

Destruction Derby
Derail 200 Race Rivals

During the racing levels (the ones marked with a checkered flag on the map) there will be other rival trains on the tracks. Just hit them to derail them. This will most likely come naturally, but you can repeat any race level as many times as you like.

bronze Trophy
Shiny Start
Win your first Gold Medal

This will pop the first time you get gold in all 3 sub-medals of any single level (Score, Time and Dares). See Golden below for the full breakdown.

gold Trophy
Golden
Win All Gold Medals

You need the gold medal in all 65 main levels, and each level needs gold in its 3 sub-medals. You do NOT have to get all 3 in the same run, they save individually, so focus on one at a time.
Score: The hardest of the 3. Chain Intermediate and Hardcore tricks (check the Tricktionary in the pause menu) and keep the combo alive for the multiplier, since the multiplier matters more than the individual trick value. Your main tool is the manual, held with up or down on the left stick just before landing. When the train starts shaking you need to jump or hit a boost pad, otherwise it drops back onto all wheels and the combo ends. The Hiroshima Slugger helps here since it gives +1 combo for every x5 chain, and the extra crash penalty does not really matter because you should not be crashing anyway.
Time: Just get to the end as fast as possible. No need for tricks or chains since the sub-medals save separately. Perfect drifts for the speed boosts and tricks landed into manuals for a small speed bump are enough. Avoid crashing, as the checkpoint can be a few seconds back and the clock keeps running. The sandboxy levels with multiple main objectives are the only annoying ones, so pick one coloured sign, finish that objective, then move to the next.
Dares: Complete every dare and collectible in the level, again across as many runs as you like. You can find them all in our Collectibles Guide.

bronze Trophy

silver Trophy

Stan Era Incoming
Complete your first (EN)Zine

(EN)Zines are the comic books, found at the levels with a comic icon on the map. These unlock automatically as you play through the story. Load into one and spend your film rolls from that chapter to fill the comic in, and once it is completely full it counts as an (EN)Zine. You can find them all in our Collectibles Guide.

silver Trophy
Fandom Royalty
Complete all (EN)Zines

(EN)Zines are the comic books, found at the levels with a comic icon on the map. These unlock automatically as you play through the story. Load into one and spend your film rolls from that chapter to fill the comic in, and once it is completely full it counts as an (EN)Zine. There are 8 in total, one in each of the 9 chapters excluding chapter 4. You will need every film roll in the game to fill them all in. Nothing here is missable and you can come back at any point, even after the credits. You can find them all in our Collectibles Guide.

bronze Trophy
A First of Many
Buy your first Train

Trains are bought at any shop, which are the levels with the basket icon. All shops share the same inventory, so it does not matter which one you visit. You will need to spend gears to purchase them. All the collectibles you need are covered in our Collectibles Guide.

silver Trophy
True Densha Collector
Buy all Trains

Purchase all 31 Trains in the game from any shop level (the ones with the basket icon). You will need to find every gear first since these are used as the currency to purchase the trains. Full collectible locations are in our Collectibles Guide.

bronze Trophy
Glow Up!
Buy your first set of Stickers

Stickers are bought at any shop (the basket icon levels) using the spray cans you find in the main levels. Spray Can locations are all in our Collectibles Guide.

silver Trophy
Full Set
Buy all sets of Stickers

Same idea as True Densha Collector, only with spray cans instead of gears. You need every spray can in the game to buy every sticker set, so this is a clean-up trophy for the end of your collectible run. Head to any shop and spend the lot. All spray can locations are in our Collectibles Guide.

bronze Trophy
Time to relax
Experience your first Onsen

Onsens are the levels with the hot spring icon. Each one unlocks when you find the Onsen Exit in the adjacent level, which is always one of that level's dares. Find your first Onsen Exit, then load into the Onsen level from the map. They are pure dialogue and world building, so there is nothing to actually play here.

silver Trophy
Sento Master
Visit all Onsens

There are 7 Onsens in total. Since every Onsen Exit is a dare, you will have unlocked all 7 automatically if you completed every dare, so this is just a case of visiting each one from the map. Nothing here is missable and you can come back at any point, even after the credits. The Onsen Exit locations are all covered in our Collectibles Guide.

bronze Trophy
Hat Trick Star
Pull off a 3× trick chain in a single jump

Perform any 3 tricks in a single jump before landing. There are a few large jumps in the game where you can do this, but you will get it automatically during level 5-5-1 The Phantom Wind Pilgrimage, since there is a section with massive air time and a dare you have to complete that requires a x10 trick chain in the air.

silver Trophy
Quint-Essential
Pull off a 5× trick chain in a single jump

Perform any 5 tricks in a single jump before landing. There are a few large jumps in the game where you can do this, but you will get it automatically during level 5-5-1 The Phantom Wind Pilgrimage, since there is a section with massive air time and a dare you have to complete that requires a x10 trick chain in the air.

bronze Trophy
There's a Trick to It
Achieve a 10-trick combo

You will get this while grinding out the Score sub-medals for Golden. Just use manuals by pressing up or down on the left analog stick as you are about to land to chain together tricks. Once you get a chain of 10 you will get the trophy.

silver Trophy
Combo Wizard
Achieve a 25-trick combo

You will get this while grinding out the Score sub-medals for Golden. Just use manuals by pressing up or down on the left analog stick as you are about to land to chain together tricks. Once you get a chain of 25 you will get the trophy.

gold Trophy
