ROADMAP
Intro
Duskfade is a love letter to the classic 3D platformers of the PS2 era. As you would expect from this type of game, the Platinum trophy is very collectible heavy. There are also a few miscellaneous trophies for interacting with certain NPCs, but luckily nothing is missable since you can return to any area at any time, even after defeating the final boss.
The main thing to keep in mind from the start is the
Shopaholic trophy, which asks you to buy everything from the shop in Tick Town. Every purchase costs both crystals (the main currency) and Upgrade Gears. You won't be focused on collectibles during your first playthrough, since a lot of them are locked behind Metroidvania style abilities that only let you reach certain spots once you return later, which is why we save the collectible cleanup for after the story. Even so, it is worth grabbing any Upgrade Gears you come across, since they are what let you actually spend your crystals on upgrades. You won't find all of the Gears this way, but picking up the ones you see lets you keep spending as you go and saves you from farming as many crystals later on.
This matters because you can only hold 9999 crystals at once, and anything you pick up past that cap is wasted. Since chests don't respawn, those crystals would be gone for good. As long as you keep buying upgrades whenever you have the Gears for them, you will rarely hit the cap, and you can just gather crystals naturally through exploring rather than grinding for them at the end. Either way, you may still have to farm a few crystals by the end, so check out the
Shopaholic trophy for details on a farming method.
Step 1. Finish the Main Story
In this step you are just going to enjoy the game and play through it on any difficulty you like. Story Mode (the easiest difficulty) will be substantially quicker than some of the harder modes, but there are no trophies tied to difficulty, so play on whichever one you prefer.
During this playthrough you won't be able to reach some of the collectibles, since Duskfade has Metroidvania style abilities that let you return to previous areas and open up new sections later on. That is why it is best to clean up the collectibles afterwards rather than worrying about them now.
That said, I do recommend picking up any stray collectibles you come across, especially the Upgrade Gears. As we mentioned earlier, you don't want to sit at 9999 crystals for too long, and you also need Upgrade Gears alongside the crystals to purchase most items from the shop, so grab them whenever you see them.
It is not the end of the world if you don't get to spend your crystals along the way. But if you do hit 9999 without any Gears to spend, try to avoid opening the smaller silver chests, which hold anywhere from 300 to 500 crystals each. Those would be lost forever, so leave them and come back later once you have the Upgrade Gears.
Step 2. Collectibles
Now that you have finished the game, you will have every ability needed to clear every area of its collectibles. Go through each level while following our Collectibles Guide. Like we said before, nothing is missable, so they can all be obtained after finishing the game.
Step 3. Miscellaneous Clean Up
After finishing the game and collecting 100% of the collectibles in each level, you will only have a handful of miscellaneous trophies left that require you to interact with certain NPCs. Now is the time to clear them up. None are missable and they can all be done after finishing the game. These trophies are:
No Peeking!
The Mask of Pain
You Seem Familiar
Heartless
You Seriously Didn't See That One Coming?
A Grandma's Love
Step 4. Shopaholic Trophy
If you still need to farm crystals for the
Shopaholic trophy after collecting all of the Upgrade Gears, check out that trophy below for a farming method.

Catch all of Tailord’s kittens.
To get this trophy you will have to find all 5 Thieving Kittens. You will find one in each of the 4 main regions and one in Tick Town. None are missable, and they are one of the collectible types covered in our Collectibles Guide. Catching them all will let you purchase new skins from Tailord in Tick Town.
Return all of the music boxes to Arpeggio.
This trophy requires you to find every Music Box. None are missable, and these are all covered in our Collectibles Guide. Once you have all of them, return them to Arpeggio on the top floor of the Inn to get the trophy.
Complete your card collection.
For this trophy you will have to get every Card. You can get cards by exchanging N1-C0ins with N1-C0 in Tick Town. He can be found in the shop on the path towards the Desert region. These can all be found in our Collectibles Guide.
Buy all of the Traveler’s objects and upgrades.
Purchase every upgrade from the shop in Tick Town. The shop can be found to the left of the Fast Travel Point. To purchase upgrades you will need crystals (the main currency) and Upgrade Gears (these can be found in our Collectibles Guide).
Crystals are obtained from chests, defeating enemies, smashing crystals, and so on. You can only hold 9999 of them and any you pick up after that are wasted, so make sure you go to the shop and spend your crystals if you get close to that amount. If you explore and open chests as you play through the game you shouldn't have much trouble with this trophy.
If for any reason you are missing crystals after finishing everything else, head to the Lantern Port Fast Travel, turn around and head left through the cog, then head up to the cliffs with the fish flags on your right. At the top fly through the rings and destroy the two boxes attached to the balloons. Then cross the round island and use the bouncy plants to get to another ring you can fly through with 1 more box attached to a balloon. As soon as you land hold L3 to return to the Fast Travel Point (you must have purchased Crunia's Wings from the shop in Tick Town). Once you spawn at the Fast Travel, pause the game and press "retry". This will reset the boxes and you can repeat. Every other box attached to balloons in the game doesn't respawn but these 3 do for some reason. It could be a bug and may be patched later, but for now this is the farming method I used. Each run will take around 1 minute and you will get 240 crystals from the 3 boxes.
Max out your health bar.
Obtained for finding every Clock Heart Piece. Every three you find will upgrade your HP. These are all covered in our Collectibles Guide.
Max out your Temporal Energy bar.
Obtained for finding every Star Core Fragment. Every 3 you find will upgrade your Temporal Energy bar. They are all covered in our Collectibles Guide.
Find all of the Rainbow Ingots.
Find every Rainbow Ingot. These can then be used at the blacksmith's anvil in Tick Town to change your sword's colour. They are all covered in our Collectibles Guide.
Uncover Gramps’ big secret.
For this trophy you will first have to find every Broken Stained Glass shard. These can be found in chests throughout the game and are covered in our Collectibles Guide. Once you have them all, head to the Clockwork Academy Fast Travel Point and go through the broken window in front of you on the right side (the main path you took on your first visit). This will take you to the circular room with the glass windows with pictures on them. Next to the broken one, talk to the NPC and if you have every other glass shard, he will give you the final one. Then interact with the broken window to reconstruct it and a chest will spawn. Open the chest to get the trophy.
Find all of Wally’s hiding spots.
For this trophy you will have to find and speak to Wally in all 6 locations in Tick Town. They must be done in order, since speaking to him will move him to the next area.
Location 1. In plain sight on the main street, just before the stairs that lead up to the Inn.
Location 2. Head left from the Fast Travel Point and go down the "Desert" path. You will find Wally behind some boxes on your right at the first corner.
Location 3. Behind the blacksmith's down the "Sea" path.
Location 4. In the chicken pen at the end of the "Hills" path.
Location 5. Behind the trains at the end of the "Desert" path.
Location 6. In the bedroom on the top floor of the Inn.
Dazzle Palette with your finest outfit.
For this trophy, you must first find the Thieving Kitten in the "Desert" region. It can be found by going to the Clockmaker's Rest Fast Travel and breaking the orange crystal on the right.
After that, return to Tick Town and go down the "Hills" path to find the Tailord. After catching the kitten from the Sand region you will be able to obtain the Despair outfit. Wear it (any colour) and talk to Palette (the small NPC next to Tailord) while wearing it to get the trophy.
Confront the Cloudie with the strange crown.
For this trophy, go to the Ezarus Forest Fast Travel and talk to the NPC with the small crown to your left. After that, go down the path directly to the left of the NPC and you will eventually get to the inside of the castle and the chest that you can see above you from the Fast Travel. Next to this chest you will see a book on the floor and you will get a prompt to talk to Cuckoo. Talk to her and then return to the NPC with the crown and talk to him to get the trophy.
Break the poor Cloudie guard’s jars.
Go to the Ezarus Forest Fast Travel, go left and climb up the platforms in front of the NPC. Then use the balloons to get to the bridge. Next to the left end of the bridge you will see an NPC sleeping next to some pots. Just break the pots to get the trophy.
Kill Wilson.
Go to the Lantern Port Fast Travel and turn around to see an NPC next to a scarecrow with a pumpkin head. Just hit the scarecrow until you destroy it to get the trophy.
Get pocket money from the grandma in the canyon.
Go to the Stonetusk Canyon Fast Travel Point and backtrack through the level until you get to the small village close to the start with the old grandma NPC in it. Simply talk to her to get the trophy.
