ROADMAP
Intro
Mortal Shell 2 is the second game in the series, and it moves it into a much more solid place in every aspect. This time it goes open world, so just like most games in the genre, we have trophies for collecting a lot of things, a few miscellaneous trophies for silly things, and a few missable trophies. Luckily, 2 of the 3 missable ones are in the tutorial, so you can grab them quickly with a new character if you miss them the first time. Then there's 1 annoying trophy that will require you to play through the game almost 3 times to collect enough Glimpses to max out all 8 characters' skill trees for the
"Seeking the Past" trophy.
Step 1. Finish the Game + All Trophy Related Bosses + Missable Trophies.
First, play through the game and make sure you pick up the
"Mid Summer?" and
"No, You Still Can't Win" missable trophies during the tutorial.
During this playthrough you'll also want to defeat every boss that rewards a trophy. All of them are found at the end of the Gates, the big dungeons that reward you with 26 Ova each. Since you need at least 150 Ova to finish the story, you'll most likely end up clearing them anyway, plus a bunch more in the story-related end game area. Don't worry if you don't get them all before reaching the end of the game, since as long as you don't enter NG+, you're free to explore and finish anything after the final boss.
Just make sure that when you go through the Prisoner's Domain Gate in the Fainweald Region, you get the
"Peter's Perfect Parry" trophy against the boss at the end. Once you get it down to around 60-70% HP, it will enter its second stage by doing a spin attack with the sword stuck through its head. You'll have to parry every single one of the spins by pressing with the Untarnished Seal.
It's also worth noting that you should NOT EQUIP the Slayer's Seal at any time, since this is the game's "easy" mode and will void all trophies on that save. This is the seal found on the stone chair in Marrowkeep.
Step 2. Collectibles cleanup + Miscellaneous Trophies.
Once you have finished the game and cleared out the bosses of all 6 Gates, it's now time to clean up the collectibles. These are All Beacons, All Weapons, All Sidearms, All Shells, All Map Fragments, and All Tarstones. You'll probably have some of these already from natural exploration, but none of them are missable, so you can clean them all up after defeating the final boss.
Now is also a good time to clean up the few miscellaneous trophies like
"Ascension",
"Bag Holder", and
"Feed Me", all of which can be done around the open world. By now you should also be able to level up a weapon to +16 for the
"Over 9000" trophy, and have enough Glimpses to get at least 2 or 3 shells to max level for
"Decked Out".
Step 3. Obtaining All Shell Memories.
At this point the only remaining trophy will be
"Seeking the Past", which requires you to get all 8 shells to max level (4) and then watch their memories, one of which unlocks at each level.
To do this you will need to talk to Zhirelle in Marrowkeep for 7 of the 8 shells, and for Genessa you must talk to the Stray Sester in the training arena. Then you will have to spend Glimpses to level them up. Once a shell reaches level 4, you will be able to play through all 5 of that shell's memories. Do this for all 8 shells to get the trophy.
The problem is that Glimpses are mainly obtained by defeating bosses and cleansing Gates and Beacons, so they're limited per playthrough. This means you'll have to play through New Game+ while cleansing the Gates and Beacons again, and then almost another full run of New Game+2, until you have enough to play all 40 memories and get the final trophy.

Perfect Guard each one of The Nameless Captive's headspins using the Untarnished Seal
Missable!
You'll find this boss at the end of the Prisoner's Domain Gate in the Fainweald Region. Once you get it down to around 60-70% HP, it will enter its second phase by doing a spin attack with the sword stuck through its head. You'll have to parry every single one of the spins by pressing with the Untarnished Seal.
This is the attack he does once he enters his second phase, and he'll only do it once, so if you mess up, just die or quit back to the main menu and start again.
Find all Tarstones
Collect all 75 Tarstones. Check out our All Tarstones guide for exact locations. None of them are missable, and they can all be obtained after defeating the final boss.
Reach the maximum bonding tier for a Shell at the Shellkeeper
Obtained by getting one shell all the way to tier 4 bonding. This will require you to spend 27 Glimpses on that character. You can do this by talking to Zhirelle in Marrowkeep (or the Stray Sester if you have the Genessa shell equipped).
Max out a Weapon at the Tarforge
For this trophy, upgrade a weapon to its max level, which is +16. Though you can get a key item close to the end of the game to increase the max level beyond 16, it's not required for the trophy.
To unlock upgrading at the Blacksmith in Marrowkeep, you'll have to give Franz the Muradean Actuator, which you most likely already picked up since it's hard to miss. If you didn't, you can find it in the first chest inside the first Beacon of the game during the tutorial (Village Outskirts), which you can return to at any time via fast travel.
To get a weapon to +16 you'll need coin and upgrade material. However, since +16 isn't technically the real max level, you won't need the very rare material, and you should get enough naturally just from exploring.
Cause Egon to pass away
Egon is an NPC found in the tower just south of the Castigator's Keep beacon in Mammon. To get him to pass away, donate a total of at least 20,000 Gloom. After he dies, he'll give you back double the Gloom, along with the trophy.
Cleanse All Beacons
Awarded for cleansing every Beacon in the game. Beacons are the checkpoints of the game, and you'll need to visit and cleanse all of them for this trophy. Some are cleansed just by interacting with them, but for others you'll need to head inside, get to the end of the mini dungeon, and collect the Ova at the end. Check out our All Beacons guide for exact locations.
Take the Tar Golem to his Minimum Health
Missable!
For this one, you must take the Tar Golem in the tutorial all the way down to 0 health. You can only fight this boss once per playthrough, and you don't get to fight it again in NG+, since you'll start straight at Marrowkeep. You can quit to the main menu in the middle of the fight if you don't think things are going well and start again, but if you die, the only way to try again is to start a new character or make a cloud save before attempting it. The boss isn't extremely difficult, especially if you're trying after finishing the game once, and even if you haven't, you should be able to beat him with a few reloads.
Find all Map Fragments
For this trophy, you'll need to collect all 11 Map Fragments: 5 in Fainweald (the top region) and 6 in Mammon (the bottom region). Collecting each one reveals a section of the map, and they're already marked from the start of the game with a crow icon. If you're having trouble reaching one of them, below you'll find the quickest paths to each from the first beacon of the region.
Fainweald
Note: for the one in the Citadel (the northwest one), you'll need to defeat the boss in the lake first to get the lever that opens the gate.
Mammon
Watch all Shell Memories
To get this trophy, you need to get all 8 shells to max level (4) and then watch their memories, one of which unlocks at each level.
To do this, talk to Zhirelle in Marrowkeep for 7 of the 8 shells, and to the Stray Sester in the training arena for Genessa. Then spend Glimpses to level them up. Once a shell reaches level 4, you'll be able to play through all 5 of its memories. Do this for all 8 shells to get the trophy.
The problem is that Glimpses are mainly obtained by defeating bosses and cleansing Gates and Beacons, so they're limited per playthrough. This means you'll likely need to play through New Game+ while cleansing the Gates and Beacons again, and then almost another full run of New Game+2, until you have enough to play all 40 memories and get the trophy.
Unlock all Shells
Shells are basically the character classes of the game. There are 8 in total, and none are missable. You can find them all in our All Shells guide.
Unlock all Sidearms
Find all 8 Sidearms. These are the ranged weapons of the game. Check out our All Sidearms guide for exact locations. None of them are missable, and they can all be found after defeating the final boss.
Unlock all Weapons
Find all 8 Weapons. These are the main melee weapons of the game. Check out our All Weapons guide for exact locations. None of them are missable, and they can all be found after defeating the final boss.
Discover the secret of the Mango
First, you'll need Mether's Flesh, which can be found in the Sanguine Caverns Gate. From the Sanguine Shoreline beacon, backtrack by going through the short cave, then through the area with bridges and enemies. In the next cave, look for some exploding enemies on your left. Get rid of them, then hit the stalagmites to make them disappear. Mether's Flesh can be found on the other side.
Now, take it to the fish NPC in the large cave under the structure on the mountain just southeast of the Outskirts of Nochte beacon, and offer the flesh to it. This will take you to a secret location with a giant mango. Interact with it to get the trophy, and a cool hat.
Complete Mortal Shell II
After defeating the final boss, you can finish the game at any time by interacting with the Ova Siphon in Marrowkeep. Just keep in mind that this will send you into NG+.
You’ve mastered nothing and this is your reward. Pretty pointless, eh?
Obtained by triggering the joke ending of the game. First, go to the small island on the western side of Fainweald (use the transporter gate under the broken bridge south of the Citadel to reach it) and talk to the NPC in the chair known as Baghead. Talk to him a few times until he tells you to sit with the rest. Sit down, then talk to Baghead again and keep selecting "Yes." He'll eventually tell you to bring him something, but you don't actually have to bring him anything. Instead, talk to him again and keep agreeing to trigger the ending.
