Ghost Of Yotei All Nine Tails Puzzle Box Locations
This guide will show you where to find all 12 Nine Tails Puzzle Boxes in Ghost Of Yotei. This will get you the "Trickster Fox" trophy.

There are 12 Nine Tails Puzzle Boxes in Ghost Of Yotei. These are small puzzles that you will have to solve through the Inventory > Puzzle Boxes menu after collecting them (check out the video below if you need help with the solutions). All these boxes are located in Teshio Ridge. The order you pick them up will always be the same, regardless of the locations from which you get them. Once you open all 12, you will get the “Trickster Fox” trophy. None are missable, and they can all be obtained after finishing the story.
Puzzle Box #1. Found near the altar after clearing the “Crossroads Training Post” camp.
Puzzle Box #2. This one can be found at the end of a hidden camp and requires you to solve a puzzle to enter. First, go to the Snow Drift Springs Shrine. Here, you will find a locked door. To open it, grab a torch next to the door. You will then find 3 sets of 3 fox statues in the area, with a single fox statue behind each set. All you have to do is light the correct statue in each set of 3. The correct one is the one that is the same as the single statue behind that set. After lighting the 3 correct statues, the door will open. After heading through the door and following the linear path, you will get to the hideout. Defeat the enemies and rescue the prisoner. After that, you will find one more puzzle that has the same solution as the previous ones (light the statue that mimics the statue at the back). After that, you can climb up to the altar, where you can find the box.
Puzzle Box #3. Found on a corpse on in the open world.

Puzzle Box #8. This one is in another hidden Hideout that requires some puzzle-solving. Start by going to the Snow’s Blight Shrine and defeating the enemies, and rescuing the prisoner. You will now have to solve two puzzles to enter the Hideout. First, to solve the one on the left, grab a torch and light the 2 fox statues with a lantern above them. For the puzzle on the right, you must turn the fox statues so that they are facing the same way as the statues above them. Once you have solved both puzzles, grab the small fox statues from either side and place them next to the door to open a small gap you can crawl through. Once you get to the hideout, defeat the enemies and then the leader. You will then finally be able to get to the altar and the puzzle box.
Puzzle Box #9. In another hidden hideout. You can access it by going through the Nakajima Ice Cave. To open the first door (space), turn the left fox statue so that it’s facing left and the right statue so that it’s facing right. Then make your way through the cave until you find another fox statue. Turn this one 2 times to get a rope to appear. Finally, you will find another smaller fox statue with a chain that you have to interact with to get a ladder to appear to reach the hideout. After defeating the enemies, you will find another 2 fox statues. Turn them so they are facing each other to get the final rope to appear that allows you to reach the altar and get the box.
Puzzle Box #10. Found next to the altar after clearing the “Desserted Village” camp.
Puzzle Box #11. Found near the altar after clearing the “Soya Port” enemy camp.
Puzzle Box #12. In another hidden hideout. This can be found by going through the Cape Inari Shrine. To open the door, go through the gap in the wall to the right of the door and pick up the torch. Then light the fox statue in the same room. Go back outside and look for another gap in the cliff to the left of the door. Inside, light the fox statue with the trident on it. This will open the gap in the door. On the other side, you will have to light another 2 fox statues with tridents on them (one outside and one in the building). Continue by climbing the walls until you get to another area with enemies. Defeat the enemies and then light the fox statue at the opposite end to get another rope to appear, allowing you to cross to the next area. Here, do the same, defeat the enemies and the light one final fox statue to get across to the altar and the box.
