To access the small north-eastern courtyard, you will first have to finish the Beast Of The Underworld Battle Scroll in the Shichijo region. Then use the cannon in the upper area on the other side of the street from the courtyard. You can reach this cannon by finishing the Lesser Crucible in Shichijo.
